Bowie boy’s lacrosse team is coming off of a forfeit win over DuVal High on Thursday, to face Parkdale High’s seemingly depleted team. Parkdale showed up with a 12 student-athletes versus Bowie’s 28.
Parkdale Panthers showed a valiant effort against The Dawgs, but showed signs of fatigue early in the 2nd period.
Due to the lopsided numbers, The Dawgs took time to run the 2nd and 3rd string offense and defense for the majority of the game. Another interesting fact, the officials made it clear that they would be tougher on us due to the heat and Parkdale’s lack of substitution.
With 16 student-athletes already on the board for scoring and assisting prior to this game, there were three (3) more new faces that were able to add goals and assists to their stats. That makes a total of 19 student-athletes putting up points. The Dawgz shooting percentage was 38% with 20 goals against the Panthers.
Notable stats:
– Team Ground Balls – 56 (Kyle Cummings 8, Hashim Gafney – 7, Tyson Cardoso 7)
– Damonte’ Barber (Freshman), James McCann (Sophomore), and Donovan Padilla (Sophomore) all were added to The Dawgz scoring list … While Bryan Kitchen (Junior) connected on 2-goals and Zachary Sava (Freshman) posted a season record high of 6-points.
